Desktop virtualization provides an infrastructure which couples elements of application delivery, user profile management, and operating system provisioning to provide a seamless user experience, while reducing the operational costs associated with legacy desktop solutions. Organizations today are struggling to maintain aging “thick” desktops and provide sufficient levels of support and attention through help desks and proactive services like security and patch management. Organizations are working very hard to reduce the operational costs associated with desktop systems, increase security, implement business continuity / disaster plans, and reduce their CAPX in refresh cycles.
For the first time, client and desktop virtualization offers hope in the hyper-expensive world of desktop support and management. Zunesis has been a leader in desktop virtualization for nearly four years, seeing the value even before commercially available products were available. Zunesis matches the correct solution to our customer needs based on preferences, expected user experience, and budget. The foundation is standard x86 servers and storage, on which we host the virtual desktops in either Citrix (XEN-Desktop) or VMware (View) solutions. Application delivery is handled by several products including Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware. End user data (Profiles) management is also included to provide up to three separate, manageable components blended together for each user as required.
