Zunesis Named to CRN’s 2012 List of Tech Elite 250

Second Annual List recognizes IT Solution Providers with deep technical expertise and premier certifications in North America

Zunesis has been named to CRN’s second annual list of the Tech Elite 250. Companies on the 2012 Tech Elite 250 list represent an elite group of IT Solution Providers that have invested in the training and education needed to earn the most technical certifications in the IT Channel.

In compiling the list, CRN editors worked with the UBM Channel research group and a team outside experts to define the most customer-beneficial technical certifications in the IT channel. These technical certifications have enabled solution providers to deliver the most premium products, service and support to their North American customers.

HP c-Class BladeSystem Updates for November 2011

AMD Processors – The AMD Opteron 6200 series process have been announced on the BL465c G7, BL685c G7 and the equivalent rack mount servers. The 6200 series processors are available with 8, 12 or 16 cores per processor with speeds that range 1.6Ghz to 3.0Ghz. The speeds available are dependent on the number of cores. Let us know if you would like more information.
Zunesis Services – We get a lot of questions around firmware updates and health check services on the HP BladeSystem. Zunesis offers a BladeSystem health check that will review your blade environment, design a plan for updates and if needed, update all firmware and drivers. We do this keeping the downtime to a minimum. Contact your account manager or myself if you are interested.
Virtual Connect v3.30 – Virtual Connect enhancements in v3.30 include the following:
- CLI commands provide essential system, configuration and network troubleshooting
- Configure simultaneous tunneled and mapped VLANs in a single VC domain
- Connect up to 1,000 networks per Shared Uplink Set and 162 networks per 10Gb server port
- TACACS+ and RADIUS role-based security compatibility
- Network access groups prevent connection of specific network combinations in the same server profile
- iSCSI boot assistant simplifies boot parameter configuration
- Server side network loop prevention
- HP Service Pack – HP has renamed the Proliant Support Pack (PSP) to HP Service Pack for Proliant (SPP). The Service Pack includes Systems software and firmware in a single ISO Image. The current version is 2011.09.0, released on October 3, 2011.
- HP Infiniband Options – Did you know that HP has both DDR and QDR infiniband options for the c-Class blades? QDR (Quad Data Rate) provides 40Gbps and DDR (Double Data Rate) provides 20Gbps through-put per server port. HP offers both Mellanox and qlogic options for the HCA’s and Infiniband switches. - Virtual Connect v3.30 has been released, some of the highlights for the Virtual Connect Flex-10 and FlexFabric Modules are as follows:
  - CLI commands provide essential system, configuration and network troubleshooting

- With version 6.3, HP Insight Dynamics extends its software functionality beyond HP CloudSystem Matrix across select HP ProLiant, HP Integrity and 3rd party servers. CloudSystem Matrix support for this extended infrastructure includes all of the capabilities of the HP Insight Dynamics with the exception of some physical server deployment and management capabilities. All capabilities of the HP Insight Dynamics are supported for HP BladeSystem servers with Virtual Connect.
- HP SiteScope software is an agentless monitoring solution that ensures the availability and performance of distributed IT infrastructure and application components. HP SiteScope software monitors IT infrastructure and applications remotely without installing any software on target servers. Collect server and application availability and performance data very quickly, across physical and virtual servers. The key benefits include:
  - Very fast time to value for IT infrastructure and application monitoring
  - Out-of-the-box monitoring for over 100 different applications
  - Solution templates that include best practices and threshold values
  - Rapid deployment and no agent installation—perfect for hybrid or private cloud environments
