Mr. Shaffer has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry and has been instrumental in building several successful IT businesses. For the past 10+ years, Mr. Shaffer has served as CEO and Chairman of Zunesis, Inc., a prominent Information Technology & Social Media Analytics Solutions company operating in the Rocky Mountain/Southwest United States. Prior to Zunesis, Mr. Shaffer held senior business leadership and sales positions with Avnet, Sprint, SSDS, and Contel Information Systems.
Mr. Shaffer has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Science and has written 3 books: Network Security, Academic Press publisher; The Transition to Open Systems, Morgan Kaufman publisher; and Business Intelligence for Electronic Commerce, Morgan Kaufman publisher.
He and his wife, Joan, have lived in Colorado since 1983 and raised both of their children in Colorado. Their daughter, Jordan, and husband, Bryon, now live in Melborne, FL; and their son, Dylan, and wife, Megan, live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Steve enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and Alabama / Denver Bronco’s Football.
Mr. Shaffer is currently the Vice President, Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, Metro Denver and co-Chair of the World of Hope Campaign. Since 2007, Zunesis has funded the construction of five homes and engaged hundreds of volunteers to work on Habitat homes in the community. Each year, Zunesis hosts one of the most anticipated Habitat fund raising events called “The Night of Miracles.” Steve and Joan are also active with Young Life (a Christian outreach ministry) in the Monument, Colorado area.
With over 30 years of IT industry experience that includes software development, management of IT Operations, building a technical services practice, and consulting on IT projects throughout the United States and Canada, Mr. Hughes has developed a solid understanding of the industry and brings that perspective to his current role as VP of Engineering and Services at Zunesis, Inc.
In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management, Mr. Hughes has achieved some of the industry’s highest accreditations including Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), VMware’s VCP-DCV, and Hewlett Packard’s Master SAN Architect, as well as certifications from Hitachi, CommVault, Veeam, and others.
Mr. Hughes is also President of Bedrock Foundation, a nonprofit corporation (501c3) organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. Currently, Bedrock is focused on meeting the goal of building at least one home a year in partnership with a deserving local family, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, and Zunesis.
Mr. Hughes and his wife moved to Colorado in 1984 where they raised two daughters. James has cycled throughout Colorado and has participated in many of the premier Colorado rides including Ride the Rockies, Triple Bypass, Courage Classic, and Elephant Rock. Together, James and his wife enjoy cycling, hiking, recreational kayaking, and travel.
Mr. Gosselin has over 30 years experience in the IT industry. His first 15 years were spent working in the oil and gas industry in roles that included data center operations, desktop support, server support, project consulting, and solution development and deployment. Mr. Gosselin worked for an IT company to help create and define a pre-sales consulting organization. This experience has helped Mr. Gosselin develop a solid understanding of the industry from both operations and architecture perspectives.
In addition to his BSBA (with an emphasis on Information Systems), Mr. Gosselin has achieved accreditations such as Microsoft Certified Professional, HP BladeSystem ASE, VMware accreditations and ITIL Foundations for IT Service Management. Mr. Gosselin has also served on his children’s Swim team Board of Directors and has been a baseball coach and Scout Leader.
Johanna Schmidt is a 24 year veteran of IT Software and Solutions sales. Currently, she leads the Microsoft Practice and will drive cohesion of the Zunesis and the iWeSocial Brand, a wholly owned subsidiary, that helps companies establish a social presence within a competitive marketplace.
Johanna joins Zunesis after a 20 year career at Microsoft with experiences within a variety of customer segments, programs and product and channel management.
Chris brings a wealth of knowledge coming to Zunesis with nearly two decades of award winning Microsoft licensing expertise, with core strengths ranging from Software Asset Management, Software License Optimization (Driving cost savings) and Software Compliance Analysis with an MCTS and multiple MCP’s in Volume Licensing & SAM disciplines and is a Microsoft Certified Immersion Experience (CIE) Level II Instructor.
Chris spent several years at Microsoft in both customer and partner facing business development capacities,ensuring long term sustainable solutions built on the Microsoft stack and has since gone on to build award winning Microsoft practices within the Microsoft ecosystem of partners (Earning formal recognition at Microsoft’s World Wide Partner Conference, July 2015 “SMB Champions Club Rising Star Partner of the Year”). As a seasoned veteran in the industry, Chris comes to Zunesis to continue his ongoing commitment to providing value based Microsoft solutions in the form of overseeing the Microsoft Practice vision, strategy and execution for the organization, and as a result, has been formally endorsed by Microsoft Executive Management.
